With their father in a coma, three brothers have to decide the destiny of the family’s fishing boat. The eldest would like to save it, and he is supported by the youngest brother, who has a criminal past. The middle brother is torn between love and family. A family drama with affections and blood ties, a first film which has the roughness of life at sea, with characters and sentiments as agitated as the waves and which sticks to you like dried salt.
Satu and Heidi have a hobby: using non-violent guerilla techniques, they sabotage weddings, which they consider the commercialization of love. But their friendship and their ideals are thrown into crisis when Heidi falls in love with a local, minor hockey champion. From Finland, an original story about growing up, which puts all its money on surreal humor, anarchic mise-en-scène and cartoon-like visions. It even slips the Mars Volta into the soundtrack.
After a violent fight during their vacation in South America, Maud leaves her husband and heads off on her own to Chile. It will be her chance to think back on her life choices, on her motherhood manqué, on the meaning of the past. An interior pathway which is projected onto the places and the faces of the Other, above all Messi, a Chilean boy with whom she develops a sudden complicity and a new possible identity.
A successful but now disillusioned architect is travelling through Bangkok when, by chance, he comes across the elephant which had been his playmate during his childhood. He decides to cross Thailand to take it back to the village in which he grew up. A bittersweet road movie studded with encounters and accidents, which spiritedly and cleanly celebrates a sort of salvific regression: toward the animal, childhood, freedom. Bong (the real name of the elephant star) is a true scene-stealer. Singapore’s first film at Sundance.
1860. Orélie-Antoine de Tounens, a French lawyer with a passion for exploration, arrives in Patagonia, where he proclaims himself the king of the Nación Mapuche. His dream is shattered when he is captured by the Spanish. The ghost of colonialism, the delusions of omnipotence but also the courage and bewilderment of the explorer who tests the limits of his knowledge. A sophisticated film made of experimentation and the relocation of images, genres and formats.
